Good health is a precious asset which cannot be bought but can be attained by cultivating good habits such as exercise. Good health generally boosts productivity. Good psychological health is critical to good relationship management. There are many things a person must do to stay healthy and among them is exercising regularly. The theme for this blog is a call to action, not just a mere statement. I am encouraging you to exercise since it is vital in many ways some of which I am going to outline in this article. This topic has become very important of late because many people have now been forced to live a sedentary lifestyle which exposes them to lifestyles induced health problems as reported by the World Health Organization(WHO).
The greater part of humanity has been forced to stay at home and many people generally lack the motivation to start exercising. The COVID-19 pandemic has been implicated as the lead cause for a lifestyle change that many people in the world have encountered in 2020. Many outdoor activities have been suspended and many people have been coerced to stay indoors for longer than was previously common. Online learning and remote work have replaced conventional ways of learning and working. All these trends have led many people to spend more time sitting in front of electronic devices e.g. computers and smartphones. No wonder why, addiction to electronic devices is now more prevalent than ever before. Apparently many people have, to a varying extent, forsaken physical activities while opting to remain glued to their electronic devices. People who have a chronic lack of physical activity will eventually become unhealthy and face a great risk of premature death according to
a report by WHO. Rather than dwell on the undesirable consequences of lacking regular physical activity (
which is scary), I intend to enlighten you with some thrilling facts about exercising.
